Day 51 - Zaragoza, the 5th Largest City in Spain
On Day 51 of our journey, we explore Zaragoza, Spain’s 5th largest city, rich in a tapestry of ancient and modern culture. From the stunning “Basilica del Pilar” to the remnants of the Roman Forum, Zaragoza is a city where stories of centuries past echo through its beautiful streets. We delve into the city’s history, from its establishment in 25 BC, through Moorish control, the Christian reconquest, and its role in the Spanish War of Independence, to its modern-day status as a global city. We share our experiences exploring the architectural wonders, from ancient basilicas to modern train stations, and our adventures navigating through its vibrant streets. Despite a rainy day, we explored as much as we could, ensuring to take in the city’s dynamic blend of historical laurels and contemporary vibrancy.
