Day 59 - Beautiful Medinaceli
On Day 59, we find ourselves in the enchanting town of Medinaceli, a place we stumbled upon during our adventures from Zaragoza. Medinaceli, awarded the title of one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, is a hidden gem that gracefully blends historical charm with modernity. We explore its rich history, from its foundation by the Celtiberians, through Roman, Islamic, and Christian epochs, each leaving a unique architectural and cultural imprint on the town. From the Roman Arch of Medinaceli to the layout of the old quarter reflecting its Islamic past, and the vibrant local cuisine and festivals, Medinaceli is a town that captivates both heart and mind. Despite battling colds from our previous rainy adventures in Zaragoza, we were eager to listen to every story the stones of Medinaceli had to tell.
